It is evident through analysis of Eisenman's
works that the most distinguishable concept is his use of layering
and intersecting. Through many of his works, particularly House VI, by
overlapping the same shape (in this case, squares/rectangles) then rotating it,
and then determining the negative/positive spaces, he eventually makes a very
simple idea into a complex one.
The other concept that appears frequently throughout
his House projects is his use of one specific form – rectangular prisms. Through
this unique process, what results is the idea of unity throughout the overall structure,
despite possessing negative spaces.
